School Outreach

Give Your Students The Gift Of Creativity

NorCal SOTA provides schools across the Sacramento region:

  • After-school theater programs
  • Arts integration residencies
  • Professional development for teachers and teaching artists
  • COVID-responsive SEL & arts integrative curriculum development for districts and schools
  • Class field trips
  • Greater access to theater training for students in underserved communities and Title I Schools

Instruction is provided by professional teaching artists who use theater arts tools to challenge students of all learning styles to better address the Common Core Academic Standards while promoting their love of theater arts. NorCal SOTA’s School Outreach programs provide students with identity development, social-emotional learning, enhanced mental wellness, mentorship opportunities, leadership and collaboration skills, college and career readiness, and the ability to tap into their creativity while discovering hidden talents. The process also has the added benefits of engaging parents, creating a stronger school sense of community, and giving teachers the opportunity to learn new teaching tools. NorCal SOTA staff co-design the program with school administration, faculty, or PTA members.
